Hi all,
Well, I think I finally got through the many email that were sent requesting
to be added to the first issue of the Calvert Crier. If you haven't receive
a confirmation note from me, then I either didn't receive your request, or
it has gotten lost in the shuffle. The response has been overwhelming! I'm
really excited to be putting this into motion and know that others will be
as well once we really get rolling. In that line, I have set up several web
pages for you to access that will allow you to do things such as submit
subscription requests (for yourself or for others you know would benefit
from the Crier), send in articles, reunion information or queries, and
eventually upload files such as graphics and scans for publication. Right
now the following forms are working, and here are the descriptions of what
each is intended for:
Main Calvert Crier page:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calvert.html This page is the
"jump" page to get to all the forms and eventually to back issues of the
Crier. This is the one to bookmark.
Calvert Subscription page:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calvertsub.html This is
the page to enter subscription requests. The requests can be for yourself,
personally, for others you know on and offline that might benefit, and for
places like genealogy societies and libraries in areas that have large
Calvert ancestry populations.
Calvert Query Submission form:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calvertquery.html This
is the form for submitting your queries for publication. You will note that
queries require a query title, and queries themselves are 500 word max.
Calvert Reunion Information Submission form:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calvertreunion.html This is the form for submitting
Calvert reunion information that you would like to have published in the
Crier. This form can either be filled out by the reunion coordinator or
another with the relevant information.
Calvert Text Submission form:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calverttext.html This
is the form for submitting articles for publication in the Crier. These can
be any text type article, such as biographies, records
(birth/marriage/death/census/land/etc), obituaries, or other articles that
are either outside of copyright, or are written by you.
Coming soon! Calvert File Submission form:
http://bfp.webhop.org/calvertfile.html This form is currently being worked
on by my technical guru, but will eventually allow you to upload
pre-formatted files such as ASCII text, Word and WordPerfect documents,
graphics in gif, tif, pcx, bmp and jpg format and the like. Temporarily
though, those files will need to be emailed to me, following the directions
on the temporary page.
As always, if you have any questions or problems, please email them to me
directly, and NOT to the list. To make sure that I read them right away,
please send anything concerning the Crier to: bfp(a)satx.rr.com As the first
issue is due out in November, I will be accepting submissions for the first
issue of the Crier until Oct. 15, and any submissions after that will be
used in future issues.
Thanks so much!
Christi
