If Thomas Calvert is the same as the Thomas Calvert whose daughter Ann
married Valentine Hollingsworth I can tell you that there is a connection. I
think the Lords Calvert who founded Maryland were the brothers of Thomas, or
maybe it was his father John. I will have to check what I have on it. If I
happen to let this slip please remind me because I do have relevant
information. I am descended from Ann and Valentine and I was naturally very
interested in this question too.
I figured out that the Maryland Calverts were her uncles or granduncles.
There is an interesting story about Ann and Valentine. Once there was a
territorial dispute between William Penn who was the leader of the Quaker
community in which they lived and the Maryland Calverts. This presented a
dilemma to the Hollingsworths because Ann was related to the Maryland
Calverts. I read this in the book "Immigration of Irish Quakers Into
Pennsylvania" (I don't have the author's name handy).
