All,
The FT/DNA project for the Calvert Surname (sic) has yielded some interesting results and
a few early surprises.
We are working on two particular Family descents with participants having DNA which I will
highlight below where the next family group DNA participant can be very helpful.
The George Calvert line from George Calvert Jr or George Calvert the younger has
participants. We know that the sire of this branch of Calverts married Elizabeth Doyne,
and that his son and grandson George(s) are commonly referred to as Junior and the
Younger.
Via George Calvert (Jr) who married Constance(sic) Barton (?) we have several families
groups which could really help triangulate and isolate and relate with certainty different
family descents. Of particular import to family researchers whom have provided a DNA
sample thus far, the lineage of
Obediah, Humphrey, and Reuben all are digging into their own brick walls, trying to ensure
their family lines are
descended from George Jr. We also have a likely descendent of George Calvert the Younger.
If you are descended from George Calvert b 1694, and you are a Calvert male or have a
relative who is a Calvert who could and would participate in the DNA study, please contact
me.
I of course, do have my own selfish reasons for this in that my line of descent is either
from John Calvert b 1692 or farther back and branching of via William and his unknowns and
unresearched lines. The more DNA we obtain that can demonstrate that suspected research is
scientifically connected, the more assured we can become of where to seek records and
why.
my regards,
David Bell
