Then Carolyn,
I have several questions for Lorena and will formulate them. There are several pieces of
information that were contained in the material, such as the Shepherd who joined the claim
for the Baltimore "estate" and the result of this claim.
The statement that John Calvert lived on Calvert Street in Baltimore...has anyone located
any record that might even attribute to a John Calvert such residence?
Anita Calvert Bourgoise: Who was she? How does she fit in the puzzle? Of what descent was
she? Was she part of the Calvert Association? This is important because her name was
attached to genealogies that was found at Old Greene County PA courthouse.
I am seeking any more correspondence which Lorena may have had regarding the Calvert
families.
Did she or any of you ever communicate with Bill and Johnnie Holman of Tulsa regarding
Aaron Calvert and his descent?
Are you familiar with the letters relating an Uncle Isaac and William in the families and
can you or anyone expound upon it?
I guess I have a bunch of questions and can contribute only what I know from Jane Calvert
who Married Benjamin Taylor. This is my known descent from John. The other relates to
Isaac Calvert of Greene County for whom I and others have yet to verify a father...the
only exception is that most of other works of the 20th and 19th century indicate John
Calvert or William Calvert and that there was a brother George(from the various work
related to family genealogist in my family lines). There are two more...Cecil and
Rezin(Reason).
I would be glad to contribute what I have, where I Obtained it and so on if this would
help spur memory or merge with other known Calverts of western PA/VA/WV and OH.
Regards,
David

I know Jim Calvert and Darrell Elliott an I are researching the same lines. My Aunt Rena
Brown did 99.9% of the Calvert research I have. Unfortunately my Aunt doesn't have a
computer and can't join in on our chats. I keep a close eye on this Calvert Chat
hoping someone will finally get all the puzzle pieces put together.

Calvert
Carolyn,
John Calvert Jr is the son of John Calvert b 1766 and Esther Jones. Varioius families show
John of Mifflin County to be the father of John 1766. John 1766 children were born in PA
except the youngest and the county was either Mifflin or Centre or both depending on the
time frame.
One family line has secondary information that indeed says that John Calvert who lived at
Bald Eagle Twp is the father of John of 1766. There are letters that state John 1766 was
born in MD and lived on Calvert St in Baltimore before moving to Bald Eagle Valley.
John Calvert who married Jane Swayne is the most likely candidate who may or may not be
the father of John Calvert 1766. It is not proven. The fact that the Mercers and
Beale's have a marriage downline in John Jr is certainly an indication.
Perhaps we should get together and exchange information about what we know and what we
suspect. There are at least 5 of us actively looking at the John Calverts of PA and who
will read this post with whom I communicate regularly; Jim Ray, Sylvia WHitaker, Darrell
Elliott, Gail Huggins and Jim Calvert.

David Bell

This may be way off but my records show Susannah Mercer married John Beale. John and
Susannah daughter Edith Beale married John Calvert (jr). Maybe these Mercer are
Susannah's family????

All,
I fear someone contacted me about Amos Mercer and I have lost their email etc. The issue
was a demonstration of the children of Joseph Mercer and his wife jane Swayne and hence
John Calvert.
A fellow researcher working on Calverts has found a record
that shows the orphans, so to speak, of Joseph Mercer, thus demonstrating Amos Mercer as
the son of Joseph and in the gaurdianship of John Calvert. Jim Ray has been pouring over
documents and found them.
If you have an interest, please contact me. I am sure Jim will forward the copies of the
pertinent images to you.
