Hi,
Varied and Assundry Family groups are seeking DNA particpants. We can
procede tying families together via Scientific biological research but it
requires participants.
To date We have identified and 5 succinct groups of Calverts within the
available samples. There are 5 parties with whom DNA has not yet matched.
We have demonstrated that there are Colberts who are Calverts. We have
found one family line via DNA samples are working the origins of that
family back to George Calvert b 1668 where a road block at the oldest known
ancestor was
1803. This project is working.
As of now, after beginning the project in February, We have 23 active
Particpants and the DNA has been returned for 19.
We can procede and prove Calvert Family relationships but only through
participation of as many Direct MALE Calvert Descendents as possible.
There are those who have documented proof of Calvert ancestry and many
other families who are seeking origins. Contributors of both categories are
needed.
I for example, need both the Calvert lines of Baltimore and those who have
known origins in PA and VA as I cannot identify the ancestor of Isaac
Calvert.
My family origin may lie in MD VA Or PA. It may be Baltimore Calverts of VA
from England or Those who descend from the Calverts who migrated to the
Colonies from Ireland and those who apparently have origins in Scotland.
There are other smaller subgroups which come from Continental Europe.
The 25 marker test allows those with a common ancestor to demonstrated
family connectedness. We are already nearing the point with 7 family
descents to begin thinking about the 37 marker test for Calverts of Prince
William County VA and likely origins to Stafford and back to Maryland. BUT
more Calvert descendent participants are needed.
I encourage you to find a male Calvert descendent for the DNA test,
regardless of which family line from which you descend. The cost of the 25
marker test is 169.00. It is a worthy investment for all Calvert families
who are interested in finding their origins.
Thanks
