You know Karen, I haven't worked on this much at all for quite a while. Keep in mind
we have John and Francis Calvert of Gurnsey Co OH. I speculate but have not proven that
these are kin to the Calverts of Chester related to Isaac of Greene and John of Mifflin.
John of MIfflin relates to Belmont Co OH vis a vis his son, John Calvert b 1766 who
married Esther Jones. Darrell Elliott and others put together the family group. We have
family researchers here as well in the various descents: John Jr, William Shepherd, and
others. Jane Calvert m Joseph Taylor, dau of John and Hetty is also my ancestor via the
Lemasters connection. Isaac's 2nd Grandson, John Ewing b 1856, my great grandfather,
married Martha Lemasters. Her niece, Sarah, daughter of Jesse Taylor Lemasters m Friend
Taylor, a descendant of Joseph Taylor and Jane Calvert.
Here are some things I observe that I do know:
The Calverts of Greene County are pretty well defined and listed via the work of myself
and Sylvia Whitaker and others. We have some anomolies that we cannot figure out.
Before I get to Isaac of my own line, of Chester County, the anomolies that I wish to note
are:
At the Wright family Cemetery is buried the son of John Calvert and his wife Margaret.
Benjamin(Bengam on the stone) m Minerva Wright. He was b 1789 d 1886. This Cemetery is
located just outside of Blacksville WV(Mon County). Blacksville Old(is where Thomas
Calvert descendants are buried). Isaac and Thomas Calverts family plantations are in this
area of Greene County, north of Blacksville and south of Waynesburg. North of Pentress on
Rudolph Run is where Thomas calvert's 1797 acres was located. Ezekiel was to his east.
and so on.
I do not know who this John Calvert was nor anything further about him.
We have the Census data for Isaac and I posit there is at least 1 female child(via census)
that we do not account for.
We have John Calvert b 1777 his brother Francis 1780. Both lived in Guernsey Co. I have
found records in Chester of John and Francis Calbort which I think are these two gents,
sons of a John Calbort. This may be where John and Francis of Guernsey Co come from. We do
have some of the descent of John 1777(espeically via Aaron Calvert who removed to What
Cheer Ia).
Anyway: This is a good frame of Reference for Isaac and why I believe that Hudla b 1811
Greene Co must be of this family line.
Isaac Calvert b c 1747/8 Chester Co PA - removes to Washington Co PA before 1793. This is
the most likely candidate in Greene(there are 2 more possibilities, identified at the end
of this summary)
Isaac's son, Thomas Calvert b 1769 Chester Co PA m Anna Ewing. I now believe her
father was John Ewing but have not proved it, this is still in Chester. Thomas is my line,
as via his 3rd son, Thomas Clair Calvert b 1808 m Elizabeth Johnson.
Besides Thomas, the family descents that I show below, with the work of Jim Ray, Jim
Calvert, Sylvia Whitaker, and others, We have pretty well worked out the following family
descents of the children of Isaac:
Descent of Robert Calvert b 1772 of Greene Cop., PA -J. Ray
Descent of Ezekiel Calvert b 1777 of Greene County, PA - Gloria Wertz
Descent of Thomas Calvert b 1769 of Greene County, PA (myself)
Descent of Isaac Calvert Jr b 1772 of Greene County, PA(* our weakest research)
Descent of Sarah Hannah Calvert b 1785 of Greene County, PA
Descent of William Calvert b 1791 of Greene County, PA - Jacob Lancaster.

***NEW RECORD, After 1775:
...page 104:
By this act the county commissioners of every county which had been invaded were directed
to call on the assessors, to procure and return accounts and estimates of the damages that
had been done by the enemy since the 18th of April, 1775, to register such accounts and
estimates, and to transmit the originals to the Executive Council...

In order to afford the reader an idea of the wanton character and extend of the ravages
committed by the British Army on its passage through Chester County, as well as the
valuation in those days of the property taken, the reports of a few of the inhabitants
will be given
in full detail, after which sumary statements will be presented of the lsoses sustained in
the respective townships. The returns were made in pounds, shillings and pence, in what
was known as Pennsylvania
currency...
note: I can only speculate that the reason Isaac Calvert arrives in Greene CO PA is a
resolution of this claim for losses -- he makes the claim and it is recorded, but there is
a 1791 record again. Next, Isaac appears in Washington County in a 1793 Tax list, and from
this area, Greene County is formed in 1796. - deb

1836: - Attorney files record with court regarding the previous legal transacctions.
Issue of Isaac Calvert and Frances Fanny Bullitt(sic)
Note: Thomas, first born is the only one we know that would be the son of Elizabeth
Gart(Cart). It is my opinion, that the children through Ezekiel are children of Elizabeth
and that the children of Frances begin after this - there is a gap related to recorded
children, 1778 to the birth of Sarah Hannah 1785. Frances removes to Boone Co IN with
Sarah and her husband George Dye and is buried there at Eagle Twp Cemetery beside her
daughter and son in Law.
