Does anyone know who the parents were of this Sarah Catherine Calvert who married Silas K.
Cornwell abt 1845 in Prince William Co, VA? She is mentioned in the deed below.--Cindy
SILAS K. CORNWELL BUYS 5 ACRES LAND FROM WILLIAM W. DAVIS 1845
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA
Margin: Davis to Cornwell, Deed Examined and Delivered to S.K. Cornwell 1847.
This indenture made this 5th day of November 1845. Between William W. Davis of the
County of Prince William County and State of Virginia of the one part and Silas K.
Cornwell of the same county and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said
William H. Davis for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen dollars to him by the said
Silas K. Cornwell in hand paid, the receipt whereof the said William W. Davis doth hereby
acknowledge hath granted and bargained and sold and convey unto the said Silas K. Cornwell
his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land, suppose to contain five acres lying and
being in the County of Prince William and adjoining the lands of John Sullivan Jr, John
Keys and William Goodwin being a part of the land allotted to Sarah C. Calvert from her
fathers estate. To have and to hold the said parcel of land with the appurtenances
thereto belong to him the said Silas K. Cornwell his heirs and assigns to the only proper
use and behoof of the s!
aid Silas K. Cornwell his heirs and assigns forever. And the said William W. Davis for
himself, heirs executors Adm. Doth hereby covenant and give to and with the said Silas K.
Cornwell his heirs and assigns that he the said William H. Davis and his heirs the said
parcel of land with it, appurtenances unto him the said Silas K. Cornwell heirs and
assigns against him the said William W. Davis and his heirs and against all persons
whatsoever shall and will by these presents forever warrant and defend. We witness
hereof the said William W. Davis hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day
and year above written.
WILLIAM W. DAVIS
In Prince William County Court December 2nd, 1845. This deed Davis to Cornwell was
acknowledged by William W. Davis to be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded.
