I am an Armstrong descendant. We just received a result from a DNA test and it matches
that for "William Culvert 1785" Of course, matches in different sir names
doesn't mean much but I have found a Martha Calvert in the same location as the
"Last Armstrong" (Ebenezer) in my line.
This Armstrong line appears to have been born out of rock and is first found in NY in the
1795-1805 range. He was married to Sally Barnum and had children in Geneva or Genoa NY
from 1813 -1820. The family, minus Eben, move to MI about 1840.
On a hunch, does anyone know of a adoption of a Calvert by an Armstrong or some other
clever explanation? Anyone have the probate record for Martha Calvert, Genoa, NY that the
are willing to share?
Regards,
