Hi List;
If I have posted before, it hasn't been for a few years. I don't have a
lot of time for genealogy research, but I try to get it in whenever I
can. Below is what I have on our Calverts. It isn't much, and there
are a lot of Calverts out there, but I would love it if someone had some
sort of connection.
Charles Calvert, born circa 1803 in Virginia
We know this because in both the 1856 Census and the 1870 census (Red
Rock Township, Sydney, Fremont County, Iowa) he was living with his son.
Son is William Calvert (middle initial may be W or R), born 1834 or 1835
in Ohio
married Barbara _______, born circa 1837 in Indiana
He died after 1920, probably in Beatrice, Nebraska.
They had at least 7 children (6 of them show up on the 1870 census):
Josephine (Emily?) - Born 1856
Mary J. (Daisy?) - Born 1860
Margaret - Born April 1861 (my ancestress) (Married William H. Davison)
Francis - Born 1866
Olivia - Born 1868-9
These 6 were on the census.
We also have that there was a brother Alonzo born 1880 who went by the
nick name "Dinky".
There also may have been a brother named "Frank" (could this be Francis)
born circa 1869.
Additional information includes that Margaret's sister "Millie" married
____ Ebner, and had a daughter named Edie Ebner. My great-grandfather's
name was "Alfred Ebner Davison" (Margaret's son) and supposedly this is
where his middle name came from.
Finally, the only other information we have is also from the 1856
census. Living in the household with Charles and son William, were the
following people. We are not sure who they are, but they have the last
name Calvert. Could they be a second wife (and children) of Charles?
Elizabeth, aged 30 (born circa 1826) born in Indiana
Margaret, aged 16 (born circa 1840), born in Ohio
Mary B, aged 15 (born circa 1841), born in Ohio
Nancy B, aged 1 year (born circa 1855), born in Iowa.
Any potential tie-ins or leads would be greatly appreciated.
