The point is, she was not mentioned in the will. So you are explaining that there is
someone we did not know about, or at least I myself did not.
Perhaps you are taking umbrage at something that is really a moot point as to the intent
and purpose of anyone posting anything.... or I guess missed a point. We find it very
intriguing that your John is there at the same time. That another John comes from the
Armagh Calverts of PA is tossed in to the mix. That a Calvert(John) who married a Margaret
Robinson is then the third. A separate inquiry was made to a descendant of the John
Calvert who relates to the Calverts of Ireland. That person may help and feed back even
more, your line or not but certainly possibly realted to your Calvert as well.
Yes, John is a common name. One of those John calverts may very well be my ancestor...or
an uncle to my ancestor. If so, which one and how? I and others have spent vast amounts of
time gathering documents, for various family lines and have posted this material for use,
gratis. Helping another can only enentually help all those seeking Calvert ancestors. The
material I, or Jim Ray or anyone else posted may (or may not) be beneficial to your own
search and not necessarily ours.
You seem to be taking this as a form of debate or disagreement. If such is the case, it is
all within your perception. The rest of us are just contributing to the area of research,
what we know, what we have that may associate, etc.
In answer to your question, I have spent a lot of time on the Virigina Calverts, the
Maryland Calverts, etc. From anything prior to Isaac however, I have not found firm data
about much of anything. Trying to figure if a Lord Calvert is hidden there can be fun. And
it is. But for me, trying to find the next older ancestor is of the most importance. My
ancestor, as you might guess, contemporary with your John essentially, in PA, not very
far away by 1798 and we don't know from where he came. This is another reason why the
DNA from your line will help us all know if you add emphasis on one line or
another--Irish, English, Scot.

David

Maybe there are several. John is a common name. I was only responding to
what was said. It was stated that there was no Rebecca mentioned in his will.
All 6 of his children are mentioned several times including her. A lot of
Calvert Genealogy has been published, Has anyone searched the Maryland Archives
for material?
