Marie Evelene Blankenship, age 75, of Rover passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008.
She was born July 18, 1933 in Waldron, Ar. to Virgil and Effie Calvert McConnell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, elsie Dobbs McConnell; brothers
Johnny and Bill McConnell and sister, Mary McConnell.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years John Henry Blankenship; children Johnny Ray and
Joyce Blankenship, David and Lisa Blankenship and Janell and Jimmy Fowler all of Rover and
Debra and Billy Lofland of Briggsville; grandchildren, Stacy and Toby Tapp, of Havana,
Stephen, and Michelle Blankenship, of Ola, Donnie Fowler, of Centerville, Jackie Paul and
Holly Fowler, of Pottsville, Todd and Brittany Blankenship, of Rover, Sarah and Brent
Burnett, of Ola, and Jacob Lofland, of Briggsville; great-grandchildren, Haley Bewley and
Bryce Tapp, of Havana, Rosemary, Kimberlea and Mackenzie Blankenship, of Ola, Brady
Fowler, of Centerville, weston and Tatem Blankenship, of Rover, brothers and
sisters-in-law, Lonnie and Ava McConnell of Cabot, Jim and Shirley McConnell, of
Plainview, Jerry and Beverly McConnell, of Havana, Cecil and Bonnie Sharp and Bob Sharp,
of Clinton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Litsey, of Dardanelle Jan and Jim Donell, of

elle, Chris Cunningham, of Bakersfield, Ca., Linda and Fred White, of Belleville, Pam and

Funeral services were held October 27, 2008 at the Rover Baptist Church with Rev. Keith
Shipley and Rev. Elvin McDill officating. Burial was held in the Blankenship Family
Cemetery in Rover.
Pallbearers were: Stephen Blankenshio, Donnie Fowler, Jackie Paul Fowler, Todd Blankenship
Jacob Lofland and Toby Tapp. Honorary Pallbearers were: W.T. Pugh and Lynn Craves.
Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
