I agree that there should be interest here related to this story of the Courts and
Robinson etc. Not for the focus being paid related to Leonard Calvert(Brother of the 2nd
Lord Cecilius) but due to his grandson William b 1666.
So for the sake of my own query, I will ask: Can you post a transcription of this will of
Ann Calvert wife of Leonard(For whom there is no proven marriage)?
William Calvert b 1666, son of William Calvert c 1641 m Elizabeth Stone and was the
principle Secty of MD among other offices(who drowned Wicomico River or Sound, 1682), was
the Executor of the estate of William Robinson in 1696.
This has led me to believe that this William Calvert was married and had issue and that
the Calverts of MD Eastern shore are derived from this descent(See Alexander Calvert,
Coventry PE Marriage, 1744 and some children in the Parish records-EFO, Descendants VA
Calverts).
From my own research into this, I believe that William Calvert,
Planter of record, Somerset Co MD, sued in court in 1726 and 33 is the father of Alexander
noted above. I have no proof only a paucity of possible Calverts leads me to believe this
is true...and since William Calvert was alive in 1696, I am of the opinion, again no
proof, that William Calvert Planter is William III as at least a postulate, I would like
to see any evidence of this Margaret Robinson -- another reason is about this same time
frame of the 1980s, my mother received a letter from a genealogist referring to a Calvert
marriage to Margaret Robinson -- which I have never been able to find any information to
support except this singular known reference of William Calvert being the executor of the
Will of William Robinson in 1696.
Thanks,
David
