I found the proof that Thomas 1804 Calvert of Cullman Co., AL is the son of
John and Mary (Graham) Calvert of Rutherford Co., TN. 1827 deeds in
Rutherford Co., TN list the heirs of John Calvert, dec'd, as widow Mary
Calvert, sons William Calvert and Thomas Calvert, and daughters Hannah
Lawrence and Nancy Calvert.

John Calvert was probably born between 1766 and 1782 based on the 1810
census and a minimum age of 21 to buy land in 1803. John Calvert married
Mary Graham on March 14, 1800 in Knox Co., TN. George Hallmark was the
bondsman. Their last names were spelled Cavert and Greigham in the original
marriage record. His wife Mary (Graham) Calvert was probably born around
1785 or 1786, based on 1810 and 1820 censuses and if she was 14 or 15 when
she married in 1800.
In 1803 John Calvert bought 160 acres of land on Overall Creek in Rutherford
Co., TN from John Blackman. Joseph Calvert was a witness for this deed.
John would need to be 21 or older to buy this land, so he was probably born
1782 or earlier.
In the Rutherford Co., TN court minutes, John and Joseph Calvert are part of
group to lay off a road in Jan. 1806. In January 1807 John and Joseph
Calvert are jurors. In July 1807, Joseph Calvert is called as a juror, but
he did not come. John Calvert is called as Juror in Oct 1807.
John Calvert is listed on 1810 Rutherford Co., TN census and enumerated as
born between 1766 and 1784. Also enumerated are a woman who is Marys age, 2
son, and 2 daughters, and an older female who was born before 1765. Joseph
Calvert is not listed on 1810 Rutherford Co., TN census.
In 1809, John Calvert still owned 160 acres of land. From the Rutherford
County Tax Lists, in 1809, John Calvert paid taxes on 85 acres of land. In
1810, John Calvert paid taxes on 85 acres of land and Joseph Calvert paid
taxes on 75 acres of land. In 1811, John Calvert paid taxes on 85 acres of
land. In 1812, Polly Calvert paid taxes on 85 acres of land. In 1813 tax
list, no Calverts are listed.
In February 1811, John sold 75 acres on Overall Creek in Rutherford Co., TN
to Henry Robinson (Deed Book H, no. 214).
John Calvert died between February 1811 when he sold land, and October 1811
when an inventory of his estate was requested in court records. Mary is
listed as his widow, but no children are named. The name is spelled
Caveate, Calvett, and Cavit. (Source: Rutherford Co., TN Estate Record Book
2, p. 154, Book 3, pp. 130 and 131, and Book 4, p. 111)
Mary Calvert, listed as Mary Cavot, is in the 1820 Rutherford Co, TN census
with 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Four deeds in 1827 were found where the heirs of John Calvert, decd buy and
sell land in Rutherford Co., TN: Deed Book R, deed numbers 259, 268, 294,
and 295. The heirs were Mary Calvert, widow, sons William Calvert and
Thomas Calvert and daughters Hannah Lawrence and Nancy Calvert.
Based on 1810 and 1820 censuses, the oldest son was born between1801 and
1802, the youngest son was born between 1803 and 1804, and the 2 daughters
were born between 1805 and 1810.
According to 1867 Voting Registration and Loyalty Oaths for Winston Co., AL,

(Source:

Elizabeth Calvert, daughter of William Calvert, Jr. of Hancock/Cullman Co.,
AL. Family tradition says that Thomas and Elizabeth were first cousins.
William Calvert, Jr. was born around 1792, died in 1859 in Cullman Co., AL,
and is son of William Calvert, Sr., whose descendants are included in Our
Calvert Kin by Dewel Lott. Thomas Calvert (1804-1876) is the son of John
and Mary (Graham) Calvert of Rutherford Co., TN.
