While working on a Wigtownshire, Scotland database for 1855 Deaths, a Death was found for
an Esther CALVERT, married name LUPTON with 'Topliff', Yorkshire as the place of
her birth. Likely this is Topcliff in North Riding,Yorkshire, England. Below is a
transcript of the Death Registration, there is no information left out.

Luce by Robert Lupton, Registrar. [no mistake, Son's name is same as Registrar's,
not sure if they are the same person or not.]
Since this Message Board is gatewayed to the Mailing List, it will be seen my many, this
is not my family, just a solo find. 1855 was the first year of mandatory Civil
Registration in Scotland, that year more questions were asked of the Informant than in
subsequent years. Any 1855 Registration in Scotland [Birth, Marriage or Death] is a gem of
information including birthplaces. Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA
