I am related to James H. Calvert through my GGF Alexander Calvert, his brother. Edward is
my 2GGF. I have papers found in a Texas museum (left there by a descendant of an
inlaw/attorney) which proves that uncle James was the James H. in the Mier Expedition.
There is correspondence from other survivors of the Mier, addressed to James, on the
subject of their experiences.
So James H. Calvert, born 3 Jan 1819 - Alabama, USA, died 14 Mar 1884 - Bremond, Texas,
USA is the sone of Edward Calvert and the same James H. who was part of the Mier Exp.
There's also a letter to a lady friend of James, that predated the family's move
to Texas, in which he expresses frustration over not yet having convinced the remainder of
the family to move to Texas.
