am seeking contact with family researchers for William Calvert. I believe he is genetically tied to those Calverts of Botetourt Co< VA and also Robert Calvert of Calvert Tx who married Mary Keesee.
If this is your family line, please drop me a note. See my post on Dewel Lott's book "Our Calvert Kin" and the family lines of James and Robert Calvert of BoteTourt Co VA and the 3 brothers, Joseph, Jonathan and William all b TN. The DNA project shows that Edward B 1788 is kin as well and further testing will reveal, in all probability, that he is a brother of the above 3.
thanks,
David Bell

In this is named two sons, Robert and John.
Dilemma: Descendants of Robert Calvert are Haplotype R1b1 = English. If Richard descended from John who was b 1689 d 1739 Orange County, he comes from John Calvert of Gisbrough b c 1580 who married Grace [--?--] and removed to Ireland (County Armagh) by 1617 when his son Thomas was born. Thomas m Jane Glassford and his son John Calvert b 1648 married Judith Stamper. They removed to New Castle County DE and it is this John who is the father of John d Orange Co VA in 1739.
The haplotype of 10 descendants in these lines from John who died 1739 and another son, Joshua b 1680 who married Deborah Harlan is Haplotype I.
The Calvert surname project at FT/DNA is seeking descendants of Richard Calvert via his sons John and Robert. Obviously there is a striking problem here.
Descendants of Richards should be Haplotype = I = Nordic not R1b1. Those samples that we have thus far from Robert who married Ruth Hoskinson Selby and who is attributed as being the Robert who is the son of Richard(as shown in the will) are Haplotype R1b1 - English. They cannot share a common ancestor within 10,000 years.
It is my belief that Ella Foy O'Gorman erred in placing Robert who married Ruth as the son of Richard. DNA shows the mismatch. Descendants of John and Robert can aid research by participating in the Calvert Surname Project for DNA research at Family Tree DNA.
Please contact me if you can assist in finding a participant or if you can participate in the DNA Project.

All,
Dewel is not in the most healthy circumstance though he remains extremely interested in the Calverts of the Deep South; he has his genealogy, "Our Calvert Kin" though no further copies available. If you would be interested in purchasing a copy of the book, please drop me a note; If there is enough interest, I think Dewel would be interested in doing another printing--cost to cover only the publication.
email me with a committment to make the purchase. I have 10 folks so far who are interested from the Calvert DNA Project at FT/DNA and the accompanying yahoo group discussion list.

Delbert -
Do you know who Samuel's father was or any siblings? Where specifically in AL was Samuel Born?
We are working on several lines of Calverts of GA/AL re: the Calvert DNA project at FT/DNA and the accompanying discussion list. Several Calverts descend from those highlighted in Dewel Lott's book, Our Calvert Kin..but we are working on some brick walls as well.
Thanks,
David
