here's an updated link to my information to this individual. I guess it changed somehow when I updated my file.
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mathews_calver...
At the moment, it's too late for me to try and sort this out, with all of the John and George Calverts born around this time, with suffixes such as "the younger" to distinguish them. For that matter, I have a couple of Thomases as well. If interested, you can examine all 79 of my Calvert records at the following url:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=mathews_calvert
They're generally based on O'Gorman or Nicklin's work, or both in some cases.
In answer to Lynne's question of a year ago (which I can't recall replying to), I believe that this George is the first son of the John b. 1692. What I'm uncertain of is whether his mother was actually Elizabeth Harrison or not.

Hi Shannon.
I have some information for you which you may find interesting. I am also seeking information as well. Carl
Held John Ewings watch. Also there is mention of a family
list in a tube he was afraid to open. Do you know about this?
My mother is Dorthey Lee Calvert bell with whom you and
mark have communicated. I found considerable info on the family back to the father of Albert Gallatin but I now believe
hardesty's and other ref were wrong. Thos c who fought in the w of 1812 and at Tippecanoe is not the father of Albert G.
The intervening is thos. clair who married elizabeth b circa
1800-1809. This would fit being the offspring of a thomas c.
born 1784, son of a thomas b 1755. Trying to tie this together and looking for records.
have sent marc doviak notes and waiting for a reply. I and two others researching this have stumbled on to a thomas in between the 1784 thomas and the father of Albert Gallatin.

hi
I have a similar record to yours, re: John 1692, sons George and Thomas. I am trying to tie thomas, born circa 1800 still
unknown to Thomas born 1784, to Thomas b 1755 to Thomas
b1715 with a possible intervening generation. This 1715
Thomas was brother to george or a son of John in other
words. Our family records then go back to the George and Doyne marriage and offspring.
If you wish to write, I will show you what I have. I now believe in my line between Thomas b 1784(W 1812 vet) and Albert
Gallatin Calvert B 1830 is a different thomas that is Thomas
Clair Calvert.
We should compare notes though.

Surely there was one or two --but WHICH William Calvert? What dates? Son of
whom?
George Calvert
(out of the hard to pin down, g.g.g.grandfather, William Calvert, born 1754
(Feb 27th) or 1757 (Feb 26) in our records born in Prince George County, MD,
and died in Tennessee (?)--at least his grandson Nodding Calvert was born in
TN, and moved with the great Calvert migration to Cooper County Missouri.

Assuming the name 'Mary E. Calvert' is in reference to 'Mary Eleanor Calvert', this does seem to be very common in many Calvert lines. My mother, born in 1920, Baltimore, MD, is also a Mary Eleanor Calvert. In reviewing a number of pieces of genealogical information over the last few years, I've noticed my Mom's name turn up often over the last several decades. Among the men, William and George are both rather common.

Hi all,
For surname lineage, ie a Calvert surname study, only
the male line can be used. This is DNA passed from
father to son and can help to connect which line you
are most closely related to. It would be very
interesting especially in cases like the 'sons' of
George Calvert 1668, purportedly John and George. If
descendants of both are a close match then the
hypothesis would have further evidence to back it up.

I checked the DNA testing site at Ancestry.com. They are not testing at the
moment. I left my name for them to contact me when they begin testing again.
According to what I understand, you can leave the records on file with them and
others can see if they also match.
They do three types of tests. The first is paternal DNA. The second is
maternal. They also do a test to determine Native American heritage. I do not
believe the Calverts will be interested in Native American ancestry, but it may
come up in your other lines.
I will let you know when I receive something from Ancestry.com.

Hi - I'm trying to track the family of Sara(h) (Sallie/y) Elizabeth Calvert, born 23 Sep 1863 in Polk Co, TX. Later census records indicate both her parents were born in Alabama; I have no further info on them or any siblings Sarah might have had. Sarah married John Newton Hoffman (b VA 1850) in Waco, McLennan Co, TX in Jan 1879; they settled in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co, TX, where they both died in 1945 and 1922, respectively.
I know there are lots of Alabama Calverts, but this is one of my big, thick brick walls..... :) - any chance your Calverts might have a brother or nephew that wandered off to Texas, never to be heard from again?
Please let me know!

Marcy, I am descended from Joseph Calvert, born 5 Jan 1782 in East Tennessee, one of the three brothers who came to Alabama. My records show that his father was William Calvert, born around 1760, married to Elizabeth Nooding in Tennessee around 1780. I have been trying to identify the father of William Calvert in order to trace this line back to Lord Baltimore. Does your aunt's book indicate who William's father might be, or any other ancestors of William?
Thank you.
