Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Cori,
Just came upon this on ancestry.com. I'm stymied: Henry Harford is the illegitimate son of Frederick and Esther Whelan - lots of documentation for that. Was Harford His middle name or surname???
Diane
Thanks for your help. I've never tried it but probably should on
some
of my clients' behalf.

Laura,
This is a long shot but there is also something called the Missouri Death
Index online. It is all from user contributions but has a lot of names.

At Karen's suggestion I tried the Mo Genweb cemetery link which is
interesting. Boone County's is sadly wanting but that's where I live
so of course, I would think that, due to having Boone County's
cemetery books at my finger tips. Howard and Cooper have a few
cemeteries
listed but can't compare to the State Historical Society's library.
Guess I was
expecting too much. I'm sure if I tried an out-county one that I
could not
compare with the books I would be happy.

Patricia Re Franklin Co MO I see in the directory Franklin County does
have a Historical Society/Museum phone 314 239 5426 P. O Box 352
Washington MO 63090 whoops I see the note says "questionnaire not
returned" Museum Contact was LeRoy Danz 573 484 4553. But you will
probably just want to contact the
State Historical Society of Missouri to see about any updates of
cemetery books
they may have of Franklin County.

I am searching for the parents of my Great Grandmother Catherine
Calvert. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Strauser November 13, 1878
in Franklin County, Missouri. They had three children all born in
Missouri (George 1879, Annie 1885, and Mary Jane 1886). Then I find
nothing else about her. By 1889-90 he was remarried to Mary Margaret
(Lancaster) Carter and they lived in Fulton County, Arkansas. I am
assuming that she died since he had the three children. I do not know if
she died before he went to Arkansas but, she was never located in the
cemetery in Arkansas where the other family members were all buried or
any other cemeteries around there. So, I believe that she died before he
moved to Arkansas. I have not been able to locate Benjamin on an 1880
census anywhere. So, since I don't know her parentage I haven't found
Catherine on any Census yet. Benjamin was born 1851 so Catherine could
have been born about 1850-1863. Any lead at all no matter how small
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Patricia Strauser Johnson
While I was in Ft. Worth over the past week-end I found two LARGE books on a
Calvert family that is not related to Lord Calvert. If and when I go back
maybe I will have time to write down the particulars. Vicki K
