OT: CALVERT CRIER
by Christi Calvert Brogan
Hi all,
The question has been asked about cost for the CALVERT CRIER. Well, the
first issue is free. After that (and when I have a better grasp on how much
production is going to cost as well as postage), I will be asking for
financial contributions to the newsletter with the minimum contribution
being equal to the cost of postage and printing per issue. As there are
four issues per year, I would estimate that this cost will be minimal
overall (probably around $5), but contributions will be accepted above that
amount for time, labor and research (as my husband says, for postage,
printing and pain :) ). I am doing this as a gift to the Calvert
researching community, not as a for-profit venture, so I don't want to ask
for "subscription" money. Hope that will work for everyone, and if there
are some that just can't pay, I'm sure we can deal with that. Also, if you
know of someone that may not be on email that you think would like to
receive the CRIER, feel free to email me with their information and I'll add
them to the list. Then, after the first issue comes out, they can decide if
they want to continue. There will be a "subscription" form included so that
everyone who wants to can continue to receive it. My plan is to send this
out to as many "non-internet" members as possible, and also to include some
of the libraries and historical societies which have large concentrations of
Calvert ancestors in the area. So, send me any of those addresses as well.
Soon I will have a web-based form up where you can submit subscriptions, and
any written/graphical contributions to the newsletter. I'll let you know
the address when it's finished up.
I'd like to also remind everyone to email me personally if you have a
question about the CRIER that the whole group wouldn't be interested in
and/or if you want to be added to the distribution list. If you have a
question about it though that you think the whole group would be interested
in, or you would like to contribute something to it but also want to share
with the online group (which is very much encouraged!), please put OT: CRIER
in the subject (along with a description of the actual subject) so that
those who aren't interested can sort it out from what they are interested
in.
Thanks so much!
Christi
