The Coppage-Coppedge Family Maxim/Manham, "Mathew Rodham was apparently a
younger son, contributed by his mother to Lord Baltimore's experiment." It
is known from various early MD records that Matthew's passage to MD was

He may have been the son of Edmund and a younger brother to John Roddam(b.
1614), the heir to Roddam. However, a search of available Northumberland
Parish Records failed to reveal a list of Edmond's children. The Ancestry
of Edmond Roddam is given back to 1296 in Burke's LAND GENTRY, 1939
Edition. p. 1934, and includes Sir John Roddam who was killed at the Battle

Hi Calvert cousins. I've been contacted by a new cousin. She is a
descendant of Elijah, son of (possibly) mine and George's Reuben, who
died in the Rev War. O'Gorman states that his parentage is uncertain,
and it could be George. I feel that his father is Reuben. He carried
the tradition of naming two of his sons our Calvert line names, Peyton,
Thomas and Richard Kirkland. That pretty much wraps it up for me. Anyone
have any comments, thoughts abt the above? Vicki K

Over the years we've been researching the Calvert line we, and many others,
have asked / discussed "what happened to the Calvert wealth?" Part of the
answer, of course, is that the American descendants of Leonard Calvert,
first Governor of Maryland _never_were_ "in line" for the family assets,
under the Law of Primogeniture. The other part of the answer is that
Frederick Calvert, inheritor of the House of Calvert, squandered a major
part of his inheritance.
Because Frederick's story is - to say the very least - so tawdry and
distinct from the respectability of the others in our line we investigated
him rather extensively and have come across portraits of both "Frolicking
Fred" and Sarah Woodcock, the woman who brought about his social and
political downfall. They have been postd to our web site on the subject of
Calvert history.
For those who are interested in a look at this scoundrel, the direct link to
the page containing the portraits is:
