Just wanted you to be aware that you have a new list admin. From looking at
the archives, this list is small with not a lot of activity.
This would be a good time to list your interests, time frame if known and
where you are looking, etc..
Keep in mind we have list members from all over, so please do not abbreviate
place names.
The posting address for this list is: CALMES(a)rootsweb.com .
Have a good day.

Susan:
Thanks for the information that you are the new list administrator fro Calmes. I will
remind the readers of Calmes Notes, the newsletter of the Genealogical Society of Virginia
(The Calmes Family Association) of the list's existence. I am the editor of this
publication.
I have 12,000 names in my Calmes computer files. The majority are descendants of
Marquis de la Calmes, the Huguenot who came to Virginia about 1795. I also have a number
of names of the Belgian Calmes, whose progenitor came to the U.S. in the late 1800s, and
most of whom originally settled in New York, and later in Wisconsin. I also have some
names of Calmes, who settled in Ohio, originally I believe from Germany.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.
