Liz, thank you very much for the information. As a LYTLE descendant, I don't know
much about the CALLOWAY newsletter, please let me know how I can find it.
Unfortunately, no LYTLE ever was in Indiana from my branch that I am aware of; Wisconsin
was home base.
JAMES LYTLE'S daughter, Charlotte/Lotta/Carlotta Lytle m. ARTHUR CALLOWAY and they had
children ANN B. (BOWLES) CALLOWAY and JAMES L. (probably Lytle) CALLOWAY.
BIRTH CERT'S FOR THE CHILDREN SHOW:
ANN BOWLES CALLOWAY b. October 13, 1905 in Ashville, Buncombe County, NC. Mother
Charlotte b. Bangor WI in 1877; Father Arthur Wm. Calloway b. 1872 in Harrison OH.
JAMES L. (prob. Lytle) CALLOWAY b. August 20, 1906 in Asheville, Buncombe, NC. Father b.
Ohio; Mother b. Wisconsin. This was a "delayed" birth certificate. Most likely
necessary to prove to Social Security his birthdate for retirement purposes; it was done
in 1965. His employment shows the Central National Bank of Chicago. He was baptized on
April 12, 1908 and joined the Presbyterian Church in Ashville NC on August 11, 1919.
The 1930 US Census shows CHARLOTTE (LYTLE) CALLOWAY, her widowed mother M. THERESA LYTLE,
and her son JAMES L. CALLOWAY all living in Cook County IL, Evanston Twp. No sign of Ann
B. Calloway.
I have a brick wall with Ann B. and James L. Calloway.
No information at all after North Carolina on Ann Bowles Calloway. Did she stay in NC
when the rest went to Chicago? Did she ever marry? If you google "Ann Bowles
Calloway" you will find an
Ancestry.com URL below...scroll down toward the bottom and
click on "Lineage Prepared by Ann Bowles Calloway." (You can also try one of
the other two links if you don't have
Ancestry.com.)

I would be very interested in finding out about Ann Bowles Calloway's life.
James L. Calloway, I feel, probably lived/worked/died in the Chicago area; however, I have
not pursued a death certificate as yet.
Charlotte Lytle's place of death and burial are also unknown to me as yet. (Her
mother, Theresa Lytle, died in the Chicago/Evanston area I think.)
I have a good deal of LYTLE information going back to the early 1800's in Upper Canada
(now Ontario) on Charlotte Lytle Calloway's father and grandfather and others. The
family came to WI from CAN in 1852.
Thank you for all of this interesting information, Liz. I am entering information daily
into LEGACY software, so this is valuable to me.
