Seeking information regarding a daughter of a Callaway/Calloway family that may have
married a son of a Richardson family before1820. Specifically we are looking for the
parents and other ancestors of Samuel Callaway Richardson born about 1822 in Tennessee.
Census records indicate his father was born in North Carolina and mother was born in
Tennessee. Thus far effort searching for Richardson’s has had negative results.
Callaway/Calloway may have been the maiden name of a mother or grandmother. Samuel
Callaway’s wife was Eliza A. Blake. They were married in Madison Co. Kentucky in 1842.
In 1850 they were in Jefferson Co. Indiana and they, along with their five sons, moved to
St. Clair Co. Missouri after the Civil War. Three of the sons (Alexander M., John A. and
William D.) enlisted and served in Indiana regiments during the Civil war.
