For those of you keeping track, we know that Moses who married Catherine Bonnett was
either the son of William or of his brother, John and grandson of James and Isabella. In
reviewing the DNA results that I have for myself and my two siblings -- the shared DNA
that we have with lines from Moses Callison through his daughter Nancy Callison Letterman
puts him in the 5th cousin range for us. Therefore, i am putting him as a child of John,
(my line) rather than a child of William which would put him in the 6th cousin range.
Just wanted to let anyone know who is interested that I am attaching Moses in my tree as a
son of John Callison Sr. We know that he was closely connected with Alexander and from all
the paper records that i can find - Alexander was the son of John also. So for now, I
have for children of john
John Sr.
Elizabeth Callison Morrison
Isabella Callison Evans
James Callison who died in 1837
Alexander Callison who married Rebecca Kellison who we now know was a Callison also
Moses
For children of William, i have
John Callison who married Elizabeth Cutlip
James Callison who married Isabel Jones
Robert Callison
William Callison who married Marian Chapman
Joseph Callison
The undecided ones are Absolom, Hiram ( who we know was the son of one of the Callison
guys), Daniel Kellison ( now known to be Callison), Isaac who had a daughter Millicent,
Isaac who married Cynthia Robinson and William who married Isabel mcCutcheon. My siblings
and I have DNA matches (but more distant relationship) with all of these people except for
the Millicent Callison line and William who married mcCutcheon. Of course, none of them
may have tested on ancestry yet so no way to have a match
The Callison trilogy for naming sons in each family were James, John and William so I
always keep that in mind
Our DNA matches are pretty much lined up from the best match correlating with the closest
relationship -- just as it is supposed to -- so ours going from largest match to smallest
my siblings
my dad's sibling -- Joseph Thomas and Bessie Callison line
Grandfathers -- Isaac Milton Callison
G Grandfather -- Charles Callison
GG Grandfather -- John Callison Jr
GGG grandfather -- John Callison Sr -- this is where the matches for Moses come into play
GGGG grandfather -- James and Isabella Callison -- all the smaller matches are from this
grouping
Take care, Marilyn
