Marilyn--thank you for keeping us in the loop. :-) Now, I have a concern.
My elderly aunt, Lucille Callison Eklund, (descendant of James & Isabella)
lives with her son in Paradise, CA. We do not know is they are safe. Please
keep them in your thoughts.
Susanne

Subject: [CALLISON] DNA-- Callison, Collison, Kellison
I did DNA testing on ancestry. com and find the following interesting
matches
First of all -- a male line from Daniel Kellison did the Y-DNA test and it
matched our Callison men. We have long thought that Daniel was a Callison
because his earliest land record in Augusta Co was listed as Callison. We
have already determined via this type of DNA test that the older James
Callison and the younger James Callison was related. Daniel was not named in
the will of either of these people so not sure where he fits in -- only that
he does. Also the y-DNA test confirmed that both James had descendants in
the area -- even if we could not determine which family to put some of them
in.
We also know that there were two other Callisons in early Virginia --
Margaret Callison McCutheon who is thought to be the sister of the elder
James and Isaac Callison who is thought to have had only one child --
Millicent Callison Shumate and no assumption as to where he fits into the
family.
There was a later Callison who came into SC but it was about 100 years after
our family and so far, no DNA connection to them.
We also have a known connection with a family who left England about 100
years after our immigrant and went to Canada so obviously some of the family
who were left in Ireland when James came to this country, eventually
migrated to England.
There are a couple of unknown Callisons in the area in the late 1700's,
early 1800s
William Callison who married Isabel McCutheon
Isaac Collison who married Cynthia Robinson--
So today, I am searching for any ancestry DNA matches that have COLLISON in
their tree. I have actually have 17 matches with that surname Some of them
are known to be Callison -- like
Margaret Collison who married Benjamin Morrison in Alabama is almost
assusredly the daughter of Robert Callison, son of James Callison Jr and
granddaughter of James and Isabella Callison
One match is a direct male line descendant from Isaac and Cynthia Robinson
COLLISON so I have written him about DNA testing
Two matches are from Alexander Callison and Rebecca Kellison (Callison).
Alexeander is thought to be the son of john Callison Sr and grandson of
James and Isabella so no surprize with this match. His family adopted the
spelling Collison when they went to Ohio. interesting, this line went to
Pike Co. Oh while mine went to Clark Co, Ohio but one of these is buried in
Clark Co, cemetery among many of my Callison's
One match has a very incorrect early tree but the correct part starts with
Nancy Collison Newenham-- a known Callison
Another COLLISON MATCH
