Marilyn:
I don't think it is a coincidence nor do I think Callison was that common a
surname. It is apparent from all of the Callison research done to date,
that the majority of the lines the group is working on have County Armagh
as a common point.of origin and that at least some of the family remained
in County Armagh until modern times. In her introduction to "The Callison
Family " (manuscript copy dated March 31, 1990) and in her correspondence
with me, Evelyn indicates that she believed that all of the Callisons from
Armagh are related. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to continue
researching this issue. She and I suspected that the answer lies in the
land records but she apparently wasn't able to track them down before
circumstances curtailed her activities. She had a reliable source in
Ulster that she paid to do research for her but I have no idea who it was.
I had hoped that the name and address might have been in some of her
papers and that some of you who have access to them might located it.
It is possible that I will be taking part of my Scout Troop to Ulster in
the summer of 2001. While we will be attending a Scout/Guide event in a
different county, I may try to squeeze a couple of extra days in to check
things out in Armagh.

P.S. Thanks for the Y2K tip. I had done all the other things necessary
to make sure the system will function after Jan 1 but hadn't remembered to
fix the date setup.
