I have been communicating with a descendant of Elizabeth Callison Morrison and I am back
to the GILLESPIE question. UGH. So please keep me on track as to what lines used this
name. I know that Hiram used JOHN GILLESPIE CALLISON and that there was a John GILLESPIE
CALLISON in Blount Co., AL and that Elizabeth and Absolom used GILLESPIE also for a middle
name.
John Gillespie Callison in Alabama was closely connected with brother's James and
Samuel -- ?? another brother. When was John born.
Of those 4 -- Elizabeth used Alexander and Absolom
Alexander CALLISON used the name Absolom
Moses CALLISON used the name Absolom
John Jr. used the name Elizabeth as did Alexander ( Have I mentioned that my gut feeling
is that John Sr. was married to an Elizabeth and that Elizabeth Callison Morrison is his
daughter. John Jr.'s first four children were Elizabeth, John, ARthur and Martha and
his father was John and his inlaws were Arthur and Martha.)
What year was Hiram born -- Where were John and William at the time? He could possibly be
son of Robert or James Jr. but how did he come up with Gillespie. Maybe son of James Jr.
and named his son for Anne Gillespie Callison, wife of James Jr.
What years were William's two known sons born -- or at least Joseph - the oldest. How
does that compare with Elizabeth's birth? Y'all just jump in and bail me out here.
Take care. Marilyn
