There is a Mary/Polly Callison in Bath Co in 1810 and 1820 (age 26-45 in
1820) with a female child age 10-18 in 1820. Possibly a widow of an unknown male
Callison. Pretty gutsy to be living alone with a young child in that time
period. In 1810 Mary was age 18-26 and the child was under age 10 so theoretically
the daughter was born in 1810 and Mary was born in 1784- 1792. She is living 3
households away from Anthony Callison, son of the thrice married James
Callison in 1810. No longer listed by Anthony in 1820 and 1830 census is
alphabetical so I can't determine who was listed in the household number that she was
living in in 1820 <sigh>
We may never find a missing male who possibly was the husband of this
Mary/Polly. I did not check all of the tax records for Bath Co. after 1809 when my
John Jr., and John Sr. were no longer listed. Alexander had also been listed pre
1810. He and John Jr. moved to Ohio and John Sr. just disappeared from the
records. Anyone got any Bath Co., VA. tax records pre 1810.
