Hi all, Suzanne's cousin, Sarah in Virginia, went to the Library of Virginia
to see if she could find the document that included original signatures of
James Callison (the thrice married James) and the brothers, William and John
Callison. Sarah, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. and Suzanne -- what a great
idea you had to put Sarah to work. <smile> So for the rest of you. I have
microfilmed photocopies of the names signed to a petition of 1781 (can you
believe the date) with signatures of John, James and William Callison. I am so
excited. Just holding the copy of the signatures in my hand feels like such a
connection from over 200 years ago.
I will scan the page with the signatures in the AM and will send an
attachment to anyone who would like one. Again, Sarah, I am in awe of what you were
able to find in only one day in such a large facility. Thank you so much.
Definitely made my day. Take care all. Marilyn
