Hi all, Just got back to town from a week at the beach with my mom and
siblings -- yes, a condo full of oldies -- but goodies.
Anyway, along the way, I found that the upgrade on Hiram's line to 37
markers was back and guess what -- he matches 37 out of 37 with the line from John
Jr. So far, we only have an exact match for these two lines. We are waiting
on markers from a known line from William, son of James and Isabella and from a
line from the thrice married James Callison. The other line from Moses is
going to upgrade also when he gets some breathing room at work. I am not sure
how to interpret this but when all the other results get in, I'll pass them
all by the experts on _GENEALOGY-DNA(a)rootsweb.com_
(mailto:GENEALOGY-DNA@rootsweb.com) to see how they interpret it. According to
familytreedna -- the
calculation of a common ancestor in 8 generations is 97.28% James and Isabella
are 8 generations removed from the person tested for John's line so we would
expect that James is the common ancestor. Now I don't know if these two lines
need to test more markers to reduce the generations from the common ancestor.
Also not sure if that would be helpful or not. Just going to wait to see how
things look -- especially with the known line from William. Just FYI, the
probability that the common ancestor is John Sr., (7 generations) son of James
and Isabella (at this point) is 95.73%. The picture may change when we get the
rest of the results. So far we only have a line from Moses, thought to be
son of William (brother of John Sr) and the estimation is 70% probability that
John Jr and Moses both descend from John Sr. Again, more tests will give us
more information. The working word at this point is PROBABILITY. Take care.
