This is a muster list of Augusta Co., VA in 1742. Not sure who the Sam.
Calehison might be -- Way too early to be the husband of Martha McCorkel Calesone..
Working on neighbors of James Callison in 1755 -- William Leagerwood was one.
Robert McCutcheon was married to Margaret Callison, presumed sister of James
Callison. James Callison was in same list in 1755 with John Sheilds, John
Risk, John Wilson

Actually, the more I look at this, the more I think that Sam is very probably
JAMES Callison and that the S and the J were difficult to read or just
interpreted wrong. Do we have James in Augusta about this time?? Remember that we
have Isaac Callison in Orange Co about this same time and that Augusta Co was
taken out of Orange Co 1735-1745. One reference has that James came from
Albemarle Co but it was not formed until 1744.
Anyway, the list of names for 1742 is VERY similar to the list of names for
1755
Take care. Marilyn
