Samuel
and the James who was born in Ky. ca 1808, from what I can remember. Who was in
Ky. to Tenn, then possibly on to Mo., or died and his relatives went on to Mo.
Should be very simple, right???
Yeah, right. We also have the thrice married James who was in Grainger Co., TN but never
in Kentucky that I know of. Then we have William who married Marian Chapman who was
Kentucky to Missouri but not to Tennessee that I know of. I think that James was born a
year or so before this marriage but hey times weren't so different then than they are
now. <smile>. Then we have the unknown Jonathan Callison who was in Grainger at the
same time as the thrice married James but not named in his will in 1808. We have three DNA
samples from lines of the thrice married James. Actually I think the William who married
Marian Chapman is missing between 1810 census in KY with 3 males under the age of 10 and
two males age 18-26) and the 1830 in MO when he has two sons. Now I need to double check
on Robert, son of William Sr. to see where he was listed in 1810. Could he be the extra
male living with William -- if so, that might be pretty significant. And if not Robert,
then what male was born 1784 - 1792). Joseph was also in Kentucky but no extra male living
with him. William Sr. was in Ohio in 1810 and in 1812 Robert was in Ohio with him. Absolom
was in KY in 1810 also but his family is pretty well documented. So William who married
Marian C
hapman has two unknown males listed with him in 1810. I think those are the only Kentucky
connections.
OH William married to Chapman is listed as CELLISON in 1820 - now with 5 sons and the
extra older male is no longer listed. Three males were born between 1810 and 1820 and two
born 1804-1810. Apparently there were no daughters born to William and Marian. They were
still in KY at this time, Crab Orchard, Lincoln County. Who are all of these males. We can
only account for sons, William and Absolom. One older son (born 1800-1810) may have died
between 1810 and 1820. I have not found this William in 1830 and by 1840, his two sons
are in Morgan Co., MO age 20-30 (born 1810 - 1820) so probably not listed in the 1810
census. William was born 1814 KY according to later census records. William, the father,
had died. In 1860 William, the son, says that he was born in Tennessee about 1815. Here is
the cemetery record in Morgan Co., MO for William and MaryAnn/Marian Chapman
Wm. Callison, Sen. died April 1, 1839 aged 50 years
Mary, Wife of Wm. Callison, Sen. died September 14, 1847 aged 60 years
I would think that William and Mary may have been older since they married in 1804. In
1840 William, the son, apparently has his mother listed with him and she is age 60-70 at
that point.
Robert Callison, son of James and Isabel had sold the land left to him by his father in
Augusta Co., VA by 1830 and moved to a different area of Kentucky. His children20are
documented in a court case.
OK this is disjointed so just pick and choose any info that you might need. I would still
love to put James and Samuel in the family of William and MaryAnn even though birthdate
does not fit exactly. We all know how the births can be off a couple of years from the
actual dates. I don't think we have DNA from the line from this William. Any takers
out there?
Gotta close for now. Oh yes, Joyce we go to Salt Lake in January because the prices are so
good at the hotel and the back door of the hotel opens to the library so not outside for
much. The hotel shuttle picks up up at the airport and will even take us to the grocery
store for lunch supplies and their genealogy rate is $89/night and one night of the week
is free. So when I use my credit card points for airlines, share a room with my sister to
split the cost and only need to eat one meal a day at the hotel -- a CHEAP WEEK.Take care.
