I have documentation in Morgan County Missouri, of a William Callison Sen.
d: 1839, Mary d: 1847, and Mary R. w.o William Jr d: 1850. How do these
connect? I am so confused, I just want to know who my gggrandparents are.
I can connect Jewell to Everett, to Henry , a William? Can someone lease
help?

Marilyn,
I think you made a mistake. The William who said on the, 1860 census of
Morgan Co., Mo., that he was born 1814 in Tennessee can not be the William
who married Marian Chapman . He was on tax rolls in 1805, etc. Who was
this William. Could he be a brother. to Samuel.
You are right about possible having first borns that died, etc. ass I
have mentioned several times with Samuel. I have never heard the head a
child that died but it is strange that he was married in 1834 and did not
have a child until January, 1838, but not impossible. I do think that
Samuel was a descendant of James and Isabell, though, as he named his
first daughter Louisa Isabell.
Maybe I need to quit researching. I seem to be raising more questions
that I am solving. (sigh)

if Samuel was born 1813 in Tenn., and James was born 1804/5 Ky, it just
doesn't fit that they would be the sons of William. I can see James, but
they
would have had a trip to Tenn. to have Samuel, then turn around and go
back to
Ky. to have the rest of the kids???
I know, I know it just doesn't make sense but just don't want to discount
the idea permanently. I just keep connecting the KY and MO references and
then
add this to the pot
1860 Morgan Co., MO
William (who married Chapman) now says he was born in TENNESSEE -- about
1814
Going back to tax records and census
William was in Lincoln Co,KY 1810 census and Casey Co KY 1820 census
No Callison in Casey Co. tax records
Lincoln Co. tax records
William 1806, 1807, 1808, (1810 census but didn't find in tax records)
1812
(this one is debatable -- I put an asterik by it because was so hard to
read),
1814 and 1815 ( I attribute the last two to William Sr.who left Gallia Co
by
this time). The last year that he pd tax in Gallia was 1814 so could be
either William in that year.
I don't have any notation for any date AFTER 1815 when William Sr. and his
sons were in Adair Co., KY. I don't know if there were no more Callisons
or if
that was as far as the microfilm went. Possibly there were no more -- BUT
need to see if any William's closer to 1820.**** (something for future
research).
Absolom and Joseph cannot be sibliing (both have Robert's connected to
them
and different Roberts) BUT I would strongly suspect that they are
related --
having both visited the tax office on the same day in 1801 and 1802 and
then
William (married Chapman) visits the same day with Joseph in 1806 - 1808
Absolom may have gone with Joseph to show him the ropes and then Joseph
did
the same for William
So at this point we have
Family 1 -- Absolom, Nancy, Robert, Benjamin and possibly Susannah
Family 2 -- James, Samuel and possibly John G
And individuals, Hiram, Moses, Alexander, William who married Chapman and
Elizabeth Callison Morrison using some/all of the following names: Hiram,
Gillespie, Alexander, Absolom, Of all of these families -- what was the
name of
their first born son.
Hiram -- John
Alexander/William
William (Chapman)/William
James/Alexander
Absolom/John
Moses/William
Samuel
John G.
The trouble with this exercise is that they may have had first borns that
we
don't know about -- born and died between census records but one clue is a
longer length of time between marriage and first recorded child.
Just thinking out loud here. Good luck with anyone who can puzzle it out.
I
am off to Spanish class. Learning past tense conjugation -- stirs up my
brain
cells. Take care. Marilyn
