Marian sent the following LAST WEEK -- where was I. Yes, Marian it was
sitting nice and secure in my mailbox. The book that I have is the Handy Book for
Genealogists but if interested in getting one -- looks like Amazon is a great
place. When I got mine it was probably only about $30. If you spend anytime
at all on records from various states -- check one of these out. Thanks,
Marian -- maybe we'll find Hiram's dad in our lifetimes. <smile> By the
way, the
book used to be published by Everton -- not sure about now. I see in Marian's
notes that it lists internet sites -- so you can tell how old mine is --
since it does not. Take care. Marilyn
Jim and I have enjoyed reading the roots web site for Callison that you do a
lot of emails on even if we do NOT understand MUCH of what everyone is saying
about the NEW news on the Callison family! I did get today, a EXCELLENT
book that some one wrote and said they get information from on the United States
Of America, and it DOES also list Poland, Russia, England and Wales as well
as other countries in it too!
It is called "The Handbook for Genealogists" 10th Edition and is a bit
pricey if it is bought NEW but we did order a used one and it is in GREAT shape
and a much more reasonable price!! Brand new the book runs $150.00 from
Amazon.com used it was $13.-$14.00. I do not know IF you have heard of it before but
thought maybe your readers MAY be interested in knowing it is there and
GREAT! Gives ALL the Internet sites for records, libraries and what they hold per
state along with addresses and phone numbers and he
a ,ap of each state with counties marked!!
Thanks again, maybe SOME day Jim or I will understand what everyone is
saying on Callison web site!!
