Just wanted to let you all know that we are OK. NO power, no phone,
no
gas, no ice, 100 degree heat but we have our home and our lives. It is
just crazy here. Someone killed south of us over a bag of ice. Not much
looting but some price gouging for generators. Trees down over the roads
everywhere, crops destroyed, more and more evacuees coming from New
Orleans and we don't have the resources to feed them, food is spoiling
from lack of refrigeration. Many, many states coming to our aid with
refrigerated trucks for the evacuees but no gas to move supplies around
the area or even for the power company trucks to get to the areas of most
need. Schools closed, businesses can't operate so will affect everyone
financially. One friend with generator so I am at her house checking in
but no gas for the generator so don't know how long I will have this
access. They said up to 3 weeks for power to return but I am counting on
the UP TO. Thanks to all of you who emailed concern. Wish I co!
uld write to each of you indivudually but hope that you will get this.
Again WE ARE FINE. Take care. Marilyn
