In the 1850 census, Elizabeth Callison and her children are 2 houses down
from James and Elen Callison -- Is this not James, son of Moses, and Patsy's
ancestor. They are living amongst the Davis family. We have that James was
married to Ellen Davis -- was Elizabeth also a Davis? The family between then
was Willis Davis age 36 born Ohio which matches the birthplace for Elizabeth
Calison ???? Davis and about her age .
In 1880 C.B. (Colbert) is in Fulton Co., Arkansas with his wife E. R. and
still there in 1900 with wife, Elizabeth and mother in law, Julia Caple
Is Colbert B. possibly Bonnett for the maiden name of Moses's wife????
OK moving along to Elizabeth Callison. I did a search for Elizabeth -- no
last name -- born about 1815 in Ohio but living in Dallas Co. MO. Need to
research this some more but found a Elizabeth WILLIAMS in 1860 living in Jasper
twp. Dallas Co. MO married to William Williams. Also in the household was
LORETTA, age 14
REBECCA, age 11
Both born Missouri. Also had 8 year olds Mahala and Isabel
I propose that Elizabeth Callison married William Williams after 1850 and
that Loretta and Rebecca were actually Callisons.
NOW for the icing on the cake
The Williams family was living next door to Caleb Callison, son of Moses.
Now for more icing -- Caleb Callison married Rebecca CAPLE -- same surname
as the one Colbert married --
We know that part of Moses family went to Arkansas because one of his sons
married in that state.
David, brother of Colbert, and David's wife, Elizabeth are found in 1880
Izard Co., Arkansas. They have 4daughters
UGH, I was hoping to track down a male line from Colbert or David for DNA
testing
Anyone got any doubts that Elizabeth was the widow of William Callison,
son of Moses??
I don't.
In fact, Mark would you please add Elizabeth and these children to William,
son of Moses. We can always change it if we get more info but it will keep me
from having to re-research it everytime I get in the mood to connect them by
circumstantial evidence. Also if you would just make a note that it is
possible that Elizabeth married Willis Williams -- until I can check marriage
records for Dallas County. That would be a big help. Take care. Marilyn
