This has been discussed before but it seems to be becoming a more important
genealogy tool. DNA testing. I have read a few articles on it and just read
another one on ancestry so thought I might bring it up again. I know some of you
are opposed to the idea of DNA testing but was wondering if there was enough
interest from some to persue it further. The only test that would seem to do us
much good would be the Y chromosome male test. The main thing I was thinking
of and would like to investigate -- IF we could get a direct male line from
Absolom, James Jr., Hiram, John, Alexander, William, Robert, James Jr, Moses
(just to make sure about him), William Jackson, Isaac who married Robinson,
William who married Chapman, Samuel in Kosciusko Co, Ind 1850, and anyone else we
can come up with -- just to see what might develop. It would probably be kinda
pricey but I would not mind donating some $$$$ since I can't take part in the
test. Is there ANY interest at all in this. We have a possibility of a yes
from a Hiram descendant and I might can get one of John descendants to
participate esp. if the $$$$ are shared. There is some info on
www.familytreedna.com if
anyone wants to read about it. Lots of other sites on the internet also. No
obligations - just trying to find out if there is any interest. Take care
