Hi Kathleen, Great information, Thanks. For all of you John Callison and Jane
McClure descendants -- you can also become a member through Arthur McClure.
Now how many of the other early Callison and related lines are designated as
Patriots. Should only be in the first couple of generations. This will be a
GREAT list to compile for our present and future generations.
I knew that James was designated a patriot via documents re: provisions to
the troops but did not realize that anyone had followed through on claiming him
as an ancestor.
DNA results should be back in two weeks. Are we Irish, Scot or Scandinavian.
Surely do hope that we get a little clarification but might not be able to
ascertain exactly.
I think I will join the KELLISON mail list to see if anyone from Daniel's
line is interested in getting tested also. We can clear up a few problems
definitively like this.
I am not a member of the DAR and actually had no idea so many of my lines and
my husbands had been in this country at that time period until my hobby got
underway. My mom's family was here well before the war but were all along the
Gulf Coast States and not much fighting in that area-- LA, AL, MS. and FL. I
am, however, a great resource (at least my files) for grandkids doing reports on
the Rev. War and the Civil War. I can introduce them to their ancestors while
they are learning. At least my dad's Ohio Union relatives did not make it far
enough south to do battle with my Mom's confederate relatives. <smile>
So take care all. Life is good. Marilyn
