Subject: [CALLISON] Absalom Callison - Ann Flack
After many years, I finally have a copy of all of the probate papers
for
Absalom Callison in St. Charles Co., Missouri. Heirs are listed and all
are
consistent with information from the family Bible. Widow, Ann Flack
Callison, served as co-administrator of the estate with a John McSpadden.
I
do not have any idea who he was.
Anyway, Absalom had a lot of holdings, but the papers give no more clues
as
to his origin. They are really wonderful, though, because they give so
much
insight into their lives. Both Absalom and one of his daughters, Jane,
died
in 1833. She died first. Both were tended for several weeks by a doctor
and rhubarb was the medicine of the day. Two walnut coffins were $15 for
both.
If there are other descendants who would like copies, just let me know.
