Hi all, Keep your fingers crossed. I heard from a MALE descendant of Absolom
(Ann Flack) wanting to know of any lnk to James and Isabel. I wrote him a
note about his ability to prove/disprove this through DNA testing. I'll keep you
posted. TAke care. Marilyn
-----you MIGHT be just the link that we need to tie Absolem to James. I
descend from James through his son John and have now had a male cousin DNA tested
to start a Callison DNA project. We now have 3 submitters. IF you are willing
to take part in this and if you match our DNA, it would definitely
PROVE/DISPROVE your descendancy in this family. James and Isabel had two sons who could
have been the father of Absolom IF he truly is in this family -- William and
John. We don't have enough samples yet to try to start separating our unknowns
into William and John family -- just trying to put them into James and Isabel
line at this point. You can read more about DNA testing at
www.familytreedna.com
We were invited to join under the CULLISON group since they were trying to
see if there was any connection with CULLISON/CALLISON. So far, there is none.
Read up on this, let me know of any questions, You would need the 12 marker
test done just to see if we have 12 out of 12 matches and if so, then need at
least 37 markers done since that is how many it took to start to separate our 3
samples into different lines. You can start small and upgrade or just jump in
with both feet and do 37 to start with -- if interested. If the $$$ is too
much, there are probably some female lines that I could contact for help with
this. The DNA testing has to be a direct male line still carrying the surname so
the female lines often help with the cost.
I am so very excited to think that we might finally be able to claim Absolom.
Take care. Marilyn
