I was just rereading the copy that I have of the will of John Morris, son of
Richard Morris and Jane Callison and father in law of John Callison, grandson
of John and Jane McClure Callison.
I note that when he wrote his will in June 27, 1827 that we was already
living in St. Charles, MO.
1820 census Clark Co., Ohio -- no John Morris but William Morris and female
ages 16-26
Apparently there is no 1820 census for Missouri and John may have left Ohio
in 1818 when he and Jane sold their land.
I found a John Morris, SR in St. Charles, MO in 1830 who was age 60-70 which
would be about right for our John. This John had a male age 30-40 and two
females age 15-20 and 20-30
Now I am wondering IF the will that John recorded in Clark Co, OH leaving
land to his grandchildren ONLY included the family that stayed in Ohio and
possibly he had other children who went with him to Missouri.
1840 census for St. Charles has two William MORRIS
one with two 30-40 year old males in addition to females and the other
William has male age 60-70 and male age 30-40
The 1850 census for St. Charles includes a Edward MORRIS born 1795 Virginia
and a William MORRIS born 1808 Ohio.
Just lots of gobbly gook but I thought I would put the idea out there. Does
anyone live close to st. Charles Co to look for a will. OR access to a Family
history library
