Hi group, I have gotten emails from Joyce Moore who has done "a little work"
on the family of James Callison Jr and Anne Gillespie. Actually she had done
ALOT of work. She has documents that pertain to the children of James and
Sarah Craig Callison who were married in Rhea County, Tn but ended up with
some Parkhill descendants. I have also gotten an email from a Parkhill
descendant with these four Callison children names as heirs in a Parkhill
will in Alabama. Now, I am trying to determine if the children's names are
the same to verify that they are the same children. I found it interesting in
the Parkhill info that I received that they were in Rhea County, Tn also but
were in Alabama by 1820. I don't think that James and Sarah Craig Callison
married until 1816 or so but that is just pulled from my memory bank. James's
brother Robert married in Rhea County also, to a family who was in the area
(Phares/Faires) and they all went to Alabama-- both Robert and the Phares
family. John G. Callison (presumed brother to James and Robert) was in Blount
Co, Ala by 1830, Robert Callison and the Phares were in Lauderdale Co and the
Parkhill family was in Marshall County. (Blount and Marshall are adjoining.)
Now my question, has anyone found anything on James Callison in Alabama. It
makes me think that he must have gone to Alabama also if it is suspected that
a son of his married a Parkhill daughter who lived in Alabama. What does
anyone have on James and Sarah Craig Callison as far as dates and locations.
Also has anyone found Robert and Sidney Phares Callison between their
marriage and the 1840 Alabama census. AND has anyone found James Jr and Ann
Gillespie Callison at all in any census records, Tax records, land records or
anything. I need to get back to my John and Jane McClure Callison line but
thought I'ld go off on this tangent for awhile. Also, does anyone else think
that George W. who went to Mo., Richard who went to Iron Co, Mo and Lewis who
went to Arkansas (and seems like a couple more) all descend from Robert and
Sidney Phares Callison. These guys were all born in Alabama in the time period
that Robert was there -- oh yes, I think there was a W.R. also. Guess if we
add these people as descendants of James Jr and Anne to the master page, we
can just put a notation that no concrete proof exists at this point. Gotta
quit testing my memory -- it is going to blow a circuit. Take care
