I suspect that posssibly James Jr -- or at least his son Robert, was in
Lauderdale County, Al by 1825. On May 3 of that year, Margaret Callison
married Benjamin Morrison. I would think that Margaret was the daughter of
James Jr since we know Robert went to that county. Elander Callison married
Peter Morrison in that same time period. The Morrison surname and Phares
surname seemed to be closely connected in Lauderdale County with a Phares
performing the Callison/Morrison marriages. Don't guess anyone lives in
Alabama to check records out. They actually have some pretty good records in
book form but I got no answers to my Callison questions. I have been unable
to find Benjamin Morris in a later census to see where Margaret was born. If
I remember correctly, she was not listed with him in 1850 so had probably
died by then. ,sigh>So SOME Callison was in Alabama as early as 1825. One
reason that points to the Richard Callison who went to Iron County, Mo as a
son of Robert Callison and grandson of James Jr. is that Sidney Phares
Callison was the daughter of RICHARD Faires. That and that he was born in
Alabama and of the age to be enumerated with Robert in the census. <smile>
Take care
