If I remember correctly you have found War of 1812 information for Hiram
Callison.
Dianna, I USED to have Hiram's records but they were lost with everything
else on my computer about 6 years ago. Actually I probably still have the hard
copies but buried in about 4 packing size boxes never to be found again.
So while we are on the subject of the War of 1812 -- we finished Ohio and
feel reasonable sure that everyone in Ohio who was eligible to serve -- did
serve.
In Kentucky in that time period
We have Robert, son of James and Isabell over in Todd Co., KY and in the
Garrard, Lincoln, Madison area we had
Absolom
Joseph
William (married Chapman)
Hiram
Absolom is reported to have two brothers killed at the Battle of Maumee. The
only references I can find for that Battle was August 20, 1794. The ONLY
possibility that I can see for any children born that early to either William or
John is in 1788 when John Sr has 3 males over the age of 16 in the household
with him in the tax records. John Jr, ? and ?. These males would have been
born about 1771 time period. By 1793, he is back to just himself again.
Here is what I found online for Kentucky -- combining 2 different databases
Name: Joseph Kellison -- only listing for KELLISON in KY
Company: 6 REGIMENT (DAVENPORT'S), MOUNTED, KENTUCKY VOLUNTEERS.
Rank - Induction: CORPORAL
Rank - Discharge: SERGEANT
Roll Box: 115
Roll Exct: 602
Name: Hiram Callison --- also listed as CALISON
Company: 5 REGIMENT (SOUTH'S), MOUNTED, KENTUCKY VOLUNTEERS.
Rank - Induction: SERGEANT
Rank - Discharge: SERGEANT
Roll Box: 32
Roll Exct: 602
Kentucky soldiers in the War of 1812
Hiram Callison
William Kellison-- Capt Armstrong Keir Co. , Infantry, Private March 9,
1813- Sept 9, 1813 or 1818 should be William who married Marian Chapman. We know
that he was a Veteran/ per tombstone, I think
Robert Kellison --Private, Captain William Spratt's Co. 2nd Regiment,
militia, Sept 1, 1812- October 1, 1812 Substitute for Tolliver Bronough-- also
listed as COLLISON (Could not be the same Robert in Gallia Co., OH since the
dates are the same. Guess this is Robert, son of James and Isabell.
Bennett Collison, corporal, Capt Edward Walley's Co. commanded by Andrew
Porter Sept 10 to Oct 9, 1814 Substitute for Chad Harrison
I think I found this gentleman in a later census and he was much older than
any child of William or John --
