So now we know that we had 4 early Callisons in and about Augusta Co., VA. I
don't think we found the thrice married James Callison in Augusta but he may
have been there since he married Mary Callison, daughter of the other James.
Of course, we have no marriage record for them so----. He may have known of
Mary from the family relationship and when he was left with children --
perhaps the decision was for him to marry his cousin. Anyway we have been told or
learned ourselves that we had
Isaac, Margaret, James and Daniel in Orange/Augusta and no known
relationship among them other than assumption about Margaret and James.
We know that James and the thrice married James had a common ancestor thanks
to DNA testing.
We know that James had 4 sons -- thanks to his will-- John, William, Robert
and James Jr.
A descendant of Isaac Callison married into the line of John Callison, son
of James and Isabel, in Jackson Co., OH
Margaret Callison McCutheon had 3 descendants who married into the line of
the thrice married James Callison. Two through the son of James and his first
wife and one through a son of his second wife, Mary Callison Callison
Daniel Callison had land next to a John McCutcheon on waters of Calf Pasture
and Little Rivers-- James Callison also had land in this area although he
did not appear to reside on that land. I am going to see if I can find any more
info on this land while in SLC. I have been to Augusta Co., VA and done land
records but must have missed the sale of this land
Daniel is thought to be the same Daniel who ended up in Bath Co, VA with a
daughter married to Alexander Callison. Daniel is Callison on land records
Augusta Co and Bath Co. and his daughter's marriage record but then becomes
Kellison. Callison on 1810 and 1820 Bath Co., VA census
It MAY BE POSSIBLE that William J. Callison is a son of Daniel and his first
wife. Other sons of Daniel and his first wife went to Pike Co., Ohio where
Alexander and Moses Callison lived. Other sons appear to be Daniel Jr. and
Edward in VA and John, Alexander and Samuel who went to Ohio-- Kellison in Ohio
In 1820 Bath Co., VA Daniel Callison lives next door to James Callison (I
guess this is James Jr., son of the thrice married James Callison) and then one
household and them comes James Morrison who was married to Elizabeth
Callison, who I think if the daughter of John Callison Sr.
HI all, I found this in my mailbox so must have been some of my rambling
that I thought I'ld send on it's way in case anyone is interested. Take care.
