Just thought I'ld update you on our DNA site.
So far, there have been tests done on Collison, Cullison and Callison. Even
though Collison and Callison are the same haplogroup (the most common European
haplogroup) the difference between us and the ones who have been tested
don't show a common ancestor. The Cullisons are not even the same haplogroup.
Still trying to find a line from Daniel Kellison to be tested. Anyone got any
ideas? So if you want to see our Callison results, you can visit the site here

You can see that all 7 of the Callison match exactly on 12/12 -- the first
screening numbers -- except for one number difference on the top row. That is a
line from Ezekial, son of Moses and obviously changed somewhere down the
line. The first 12 ends with the column of 30. The next batch goes up to marker
25 -- 13 additional markers from the 12 and ends with the column of 18. The
more markers that you match on -- the fewer generations to get back to the
MRCA -- Most Recent Common Ancestor. For those of us who descend from James and
Isabel, we know that James is a common ancestor but we may have one
generation closer through William or John. For those of you from the thrice married
James, we can assume that Anthony (with Abigail) is not the MRCA because he
would not have both James as sons so with this many matches -- it is a good
possibility that the Father of Anthony is the MRCA.
So back to the chart -- with the markers ending with the column of 18s. You
will see that in the 2nd column from the end -- the first two people have 15
and the rest of the people have 16. Again the first line if from Ezekial, son
of Moses and the second row is from the thrice married James.
Also you will see that the column with 27's, has a 28 in the last place.
This is from a Gilmer Callison whom I know nothing about - just that he had his
DNA tested but my thought is that he is from the thrice married James. I have
emailed him to see if he'll share his ancestor.
The next set of markers from 25-37 which brings the MRCA even closer, you
will see a colume with mostly 17 but the first and third row have 16 and the
reverse numbers are two columns down. This is interesting because these two
lines are both descended from Moses which makes you start to wonder if the
mutations (change from 16 to 17 and 17 to 16) occurred with Moses himself. If so,
then Moses descendants should all have this combination
On the second from the last column, you will see the 2nd row with a 39 and
everyone else with a 38. Again this is the thrice married James. I am not sure
which son this line follows so will have to confirm. I am thinking Isaac but
may be wrong on this.
You can take the numbers that are the predominant ones and ascertain that
the MRCA had the same numbers.
The two lines from Moses have the same numbers on all of their markers exce
pt for # 11 which seems to be specific for Ezekial
You will note that rows # 4, 5 and 6 all have EXACTLY the same numbers which
means that there have been no mutations from the originals and that the MRCA
is in a reasonably short genealogical time period. These lines are Known
line from John, Known line from William and then Hiram.
For 2008, we need to think about getting more markers tested on these 3
lines to see if it puts us any closer to separating the three. Also need to try
to find male lines from both Robert and James Jr. to see how they compare with
our John, William and Hiram lines. One of them could possibly be the father
of Hiram
I'll keep you posted on Alexander. Take care. Marilyn
