WOW familytreedna is on the ball. Results not expected until the 30th and
they came in today. So now where do we stand.
The new results are for a second line from Moses and showed something of
interest. The first line from Moses matched on 37 markers with Hiram and John
Jr. line EXCEPT for markers # 456 and 576 which were reversed. Moses had 16 and
17 and Hiram and John Jr had 17 and 16. WELL, the second line of Moses has
the same reversed numbers as the first line -- may be a clue for future lines
from Moses.
The second line from Moses is alone on results from one marker # 392. He has
12 and all the rest have 13 -- this may be something specific to his line
only
On one marker 464 -- Everyone has 15/16/16/18 except for James II and this
second line from Moses and they have 15/15/16/18
James II has his own distinct marker at CDYb of 39 and the rest of us have
38.
Now what does all of this mean
CDYb-- this mutation could have taken place way back at Anthony and Abigail
level or as late as the person who supplied the sample. It would take another
sample from James II line to START to figure it out. It is POSSIBLE that that
marker will eventually point to Anthony (Abigail)'s line and the 38 will
point to James (Isabella)'s line
The 456 and 576 MAY point to a mutation at the level of Moses. It will be
interesting to see how the sample from the known line from William comes back.
Even more interesting IF he has the same numbers
The 392 is PROBABLY specific to the line from Moses that originated with his
son, Ezekial -- either at that level or at the level of the person giving
the sample
The 464 is so slight a difference -- that I am going to leave it alone for
now as far as significance.
The line from John Jr and the line from Hiram continue to be the only ones
that match 37/37. We'll just wait and see what the known line from William
shows up but it certainly looks POSSIBLE that Hiram and John Jr. shared a MRCA
(Most recent common ancestor) at a later date than the other lines.
Just some thoughts at this point. As you can see, the more samples that we
get, the more accurate we can estimate the results. As I told Patsy -- even
though her father got tested -- having her cousin tested would add more
information. So look in your phone book, see if there are any Callisons, give them a
call and ask for some DNA <smile> Just kidding. However if you wanted to see
where they connect -- that would probably be worth a phone call. I have sent
out a few emails but not sure I'll hear anything back. Someone on genforum
was looking for his birth father so I suggested DNA testing to connect him to
our family or not -- that would eliminate a lot of people. Also wrote to
someone from the SC Callison's -- would love to see if they match and wrote to
someone in England. So far NADA but I'll keep plugging away. Take care. Marilyn
