Hmmmmm maybe Hiram, Benjamin, Susannah, Nancy/Agnes and Absolom all had the
same father and Absolom just left for Greenbrier when he was of age
Just thinking along the lines about the Callison family Bible with its
listing for sibling; Absolom, Benjamin and Robert BUT NOT Hiram, Susannah nor
Agnes/Nancy. However the husband of Agnes/Nancy (James Fitzgerald) named Absolom
as his brother in law so obviously she is also a sibling to Absolom, Benjamin
and Robert but not named in the Bible -- that I know of.
1803 and 1804 -- Augusta Co., VA
Robert Callison with 2 titheables -- 2nd titheable ? Hiram
1805 Robert still with 2 titheables -- and Hiram over age 21 but no tax due
-- probably just turned 21/22 which required him to be listed separately.
Interesting -- there is a Robert Callison Jr. listed also, that I thought might
be entered incorrectly for James Jr. but now, I don't think so. -- actually
may be a younger Robert. This was the only year for a Robert Jr. Actually
James Jr. had left the area about 1802.
1806 -- 1809 Robert only claiming himself but now Hiram has an extra male
age 16-21 living with him
1811 has Robert, Hiram AND Benjamin -- all with no extra males
That is the last listing for both Hiram AND Benjamin in Augusta Co., VA
Did they leave together
Then we have Hiram and a Benjamin and a Robert in KY by 1812-1813
Robert again has an extra titheable in 1813/1814 which probably represents
his oldest son, James, who was born 1796. Robert and his family moved to
Kentucky -- Christian Co -- by 1815
I feel like we are chipping away at some brick wall here -- lots to think
about. Sometimes a lightbulb goes off to shed a little light into a dark corner
but this at least gives up something to chew on a little. There definitely
was at least one other male in the mix in Augusta --
