Found a good site with Greenbrier deeds. Unfortunately when I bookmarked it,
I could not pull it back up again.
(Greenbrier County, Virginia January 1, 1778 John Beard is entitled to 400
acres as assignee of William Gilhison and John Callison to include a survey
made for Callison in 1774 adjacent to William and John Callison).
This one SEEMS to indicate that the one mentioned here.
is different than the one mentioned below. At least the survey dates do not
match. And does anyone know what this ASSIGNEE means? I'll try to find out.

NOte on this one. Samuel Gilliland had son marry into John Callison Jr line.
Arthur McClures daughter married John Callison Jr. James Snodgrass married
another of Arthur McClure's daughters. There are some land records for William
Elliott (married daughter of Jane Callison Morris and Cavendish who I know
married into Callison line but not sure which Cavendish was the father.
Here is another one in the Spring Creek Area. TheBLAIR name and the RENICK
both married into Callison family This is interesting because John and
William's sister, Agnes (Nancy) married Thomas Blair in 1795 in Greenbrier Co. What
was she doing in Greenbrier and who was she living with up to that time. Was
Thomas the son of William Blair??? I know the McClures married into the
Hanna/Hannah family and later generations of Callisons in Greenbrier did also

Lots of McClung but I don't know the first name of Abigail's father to see
where they lived in relation to James 2. Take care all. Still would love to find
a survey map to see just where they all lived. Don't forget to send all of
your connecting surnames for Virginia up to 1800-1810 time period. Terry
Burnsides and I have ours done but it would be good to incorporate all of the
surnames who married into the family in Greenbrier and Bath.Even if they did not
marry into the family until the next migration BUT were in Greenbrier/Bath send
them on also. Take care all
