I am sorry I made the impression that Sara was a Parkhill at the time of her
marriage to a Callison. But here is the information that I have.
On February 24, 1844, David Parkhill breathed his last breath, leaving no
will. Martha relinquished her right to administer the estate and had her two
younger sons Allen H. Parkhill and Harry B. Parkhill appointed Administrators
of
their father's estate on Friday, March 15, 1844. Over a year later on
Tuesday,
November 25, 1845 Allen H. Parkhill gave petitions to sell the land and the
estate. The heirs that were mentioned were EMILY JANE, JULIA ANN AND TRAVIS
PARKHILL who lived beyond the state. In fact they were living in Kentucky.
These were the children of Dr. John Parkhill who had married Sara Clapp in
Huntsville AL area in 1820. They later moved to Calloway County in Western KY
with
the Clapp Family. John died in 1842 and Sara married John's friend, Dr.
Caleb
Jones. Montgomery Gilbreath was appointed Guardian during the interim or the
proceeding for the following minor children: TRAVIS, MARTHA ANN, ELIZA JANE
and EMILY ELIZABETH CALLISON, along with MARTHA JANE, JAMES AND JOHN
PARKHILL.
These Callison children are listed as heirs of David Parkhill. So, help
please??????
Boy, Jim I can see why you are confused. So let me see if I have this right.
In 1845 3 heirs of David Parkhill were mentioned as Emily, Julia and Travis
with the last name of Parkhill. A Sara was the mother of these children and
the father was John Parkhill and they married in 1820
On November 25, 1845, Allen H. Parkhill, became administrator of David
Parkhill and petitioned to sell the land: Emily Jane, Julia Ann and Travis Parkhill
are listed as heirs and live beyond the state; Montgomery Gilbreath was
appointed guardian ad litem of Travis, Martha Ann, Eliza Jane and Emily Elizabeth
Callison and Martha Jane, James and John, were listed as heirs of David
Parkhill, deceased.
James Callison died in 1838 or so and was married to a Sarah and a Sarah was
the mother of his children in the land records of Texas. Was she identified as
Sarah CALLISON and were there children named in this Texas record??
If the Texas land records name Sarah Callison and Travis, Martha, Eliza and
Emily and the land pertains to the James Callison who was killed at Goliad then
it seems possible that there may be another James Callison married to a Sarah
Parkhill. How can we connect the James killed at Goliad to James, son of
James and Ann Gillespie Callison and what is the Blount/Marshall Co connection
between John G. Callison.
Does anyone have this book or access to these records

According to some Parkhill history online David Parkhill who died in 1846 was
in Rhea Co. Tn in 1819-- Where Sarah Craig married James Callison in 1816 or
1818 IF I remember correctly
In 1846 Martha Callison was married in Marshall County, Alabama. So were the
minor children in the guardianship papers in Alabama or some other state
Callison, Martha Ann to Lemly, David W. 1846 JAN 29
1846 FEB 16 R. C. Newman
Marshall County was taken from Blount Co in 1836. Blount County is where John
G. Callison was earlier. Are these two families connected in any manner???
Gotta get off my duff and start the day. Take care all
